TWO FLAMINGOS IN THE ORIGINAL MIRRORED FRAME by M. Devoe

We know very few things about M. Devoe but we do know that he/she framed their work in picture frames with mirrors around the frame.  Almost all of the Devoe paintings I have seen, including the ones I own, are missing the mirrored pieces.  Often pieces of the mirrors are there, or evidence of the glue used to fasten them to the frame but never a complete mirrored frame - until now.

ebay Seller thebearman offered the painting above - an M. Devoe painting of two flamingos in the original mirror frame.  After receiving 11 bids, the painting sold for $96.00.  Somebody got a tremendous deal.  Let's take another look at the mirror part of the frame:

The item framed, is 32" x 36".  Good thing I didn't see this until the auction was over or I might have been tempted...

To the successful bidder, enjoy your beautiful M. Devoe in the original mirror frame!

  1. I too have one of these M Devoe original mirror-framed paintings. However, mine has gold molding between the frame and the picture. It has a small crack in the upper right corner of the mirror frame, but other than that it's an pretty good condition. It was given as a gift to my husband's grandmother back in the 50s.
